THE METERS YOU HAVE. A BETTER WAY TO READ THEM.
Get a clearer picture of water consumption.
Waterlogged is meter-reading software that brings photo evidence and read verification into one workflow—helping utility teams check reads, answer customer questions, and identify readings that need follow-up, using the meters already in the ground.
Capture. Verify. Move forward.
FOR THE WORK. FOR THE PEOPLE BEHIND IT.
Less rework.
More room to serve.
Trustworthy reads, the first time.
Photo evidence and built-in checks help teams catch questionable reads before they become repeat work.
Less office work.
Spend less time checking reads and reconciling spreadsheets.
Fewer return trips.
Resolve questionable reads before sending someone back—reducing unnecessary miles and fleet wear.
Clearer customer answers.
Bring photo evidence to “my bill is too high” conversations.
More focused investigations.
Separate read verification from potential leak follow-up.
Keep the meters you have.
Improve the process without a district-wide meter replacement.
PUT YOUR PROCESS IN PERSPECTIVE
What does each read really cost?
A few small steps add up. Explore the time and cost behind your reads, using your own numbers.
THE VALUE OF LESS REWORK
Small moments.
Meaningful capacity.
What could a little less work per meter read mean for your team?
01 / THE COST OF GOING BACK
What do rereads cost today?
Use your estimated all-in cost of a return visit: staff time, driving, and vehicle costs. Include each cost once. The $50 starting value is an editable assumption, not an industry benchmark.
01 / YOUR READING VOLUME
02 / THE WORK PER READ
What goes into each read?
Set the average staff time for each step and the percentage of monthly reads it applies to. Percentages are independent; they do not need to add up to 100%.
Starting times and percentages are illustrative assumptions. Use total staff time per occurrence; if two people spend one minute each, enter two minutes. Count each piece of work once.
03 / YOUR HOURLY COST
One average employer cost for all four steps. Include employer payroll taxes here if you want them counted.
Add vehicle costs (optional)
Calculate your fleet rate: annual fuel, maintenance, tires, insurance, registration, and depreciation or lease costs ÷ annual fleet miles, using the same vehicles and period. Insurance is already included; do not add it again. Apply only miles attributable to reading and rereads.
This allocates ownership costs; fewer trips do not automatically reduce insurance premiums or lease payments. Driver time is separate from vehicle cost and is excluded unless included in your step times.
